Charles Carter
President
Charles A. Carter joined the faculty of the Department of Clinical Research, College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences as an Associate Professor in August of 2015. He teaches in both the Bachelor of Science (BSCR) and Masters of Science in Clinical Research (MSCR) curricula. In addition, Dr. Carter mentors and advises students on their educational and post-graduate journeys.
Prior to joining Campbell University, Dr. Carter served as the Executive Director, Medical Affairs of Salix Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in Raleigh, North Carolina from 2012 to 2015. From 1994 to 2012, Dr. Carter founded and operated Pharmaceutical Strategic Initiatives, LLC and focused his energies on the company’s vision and services. Pharmaceutical Strategic Initiatives was a leading provider of strategic consulting, clinical research design and strategy, regulatory preparation, medical and scientific content creation, health outcomes research, key opinion leader and advocacy development.
Dr. Carter has served as President of the Consortium of Academic Programs in Clinical Research since 2020.
Jared Kerr
Vice President
Jared Kerr is an assistant professor of clinical research, bringing with him a wealth of experience working in a variety of roles in pharmaceutical research and development, project management, academia, and state and federal government positions. Specifically, his interests and concentration is on project management, regulatory affairs, intellectual property, scientific writing, data analytics, and data visualization. Kerr's career focus has been in improving people’s health through innovation.
Kerr's educational background consists of a BS degree (microbiology) from Auburn University, a master’s in public health, international health-epidemiology from Emory University, a law degree from Cumberland School of Law, Samford University and certification in life sciences entrepreneurship from the University of Alabama-Birmingham.
Jared has served as President of the Consortium of Academic Programs in Clinical Research since 2020.
